Community mourns death of developer Bill Amick
The Pinnacle Falls Property Owners Association (POA) Board has learned that Pinnacle Falls developer, Bill Amick, has died. Property manager, A.J. Ball, notified the board Saturday, November 30.
Bill had fought a courageous battle against cancer, but succumbed to the disease at his home in South Carolina early Friday, November 29. He was 70 years old. Bill not only developed the Pinnacle Falls community, but also its sister communities, Oleta Falls and Bright's Creek.
The family will receive friends on December 1 from 1pm to 3pm at The Amick Co., 135 Homestead Rd, in the Amick Grove Community, Batesburg, SC. The Memorial Service will follow at 4pm at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Saluda, SC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the ministry, T3, which was a favorite charity of Bill's. Memorials should be made payable to The Chapel, 121 Homestead Rd, Batesburg, SC 29006. Ramey Funeral home is assisting the family with arrangements. Click here to view Bill's obituary.
The POA board is planning several memorial options to honor Bill's legacy, including a donation to the charity, T3.

Wintry mix arrives just before Thanksgiving
The days just before Thanksgiving looked more like Christmas thanks to Mother Nature.
On Monday, Nov 25, there was fog and rain, which subsequently froze when temperatures dropped below freezing. Tuesday, Nov 26 brought non-stop heavy rain. Then, Wednesday, Nov 27 arrived with strong gusts of wind and a light dusting of snow, followed by a beautiful sunny day.

Pinnacle Falls has some great amateur photographers as evidenced by the photos submitted for our first fall photo contest. The photos submitted by Shawn Blackburn, Grady Nance, and Renee Kidwell are absolutely fantastic! And although they are all worthy of being recognized as winning entries, alas, there can be only one.
After careful review of all the entries, the judging panel, which included Phyllis Carlson, Ed Carlson, and Yvette Freeman, selected Grady Nance's photo above of a secluded overlook near mile marker 421 on the Blue Ridge Parkway, as the winning photo. Congratulations Grady! Grady will receive an 11 x 14 canvas print of his winning photo. Renee Kidwell's entry, "Pinnacle trails into autumn" came in as runner-up. Below are all of the submissions received. Thank you to Shawn, Grady, and Renee for participating! |

PF Gazette has new website, email address, and lookAs you may have noticed, the Pinnacle Falls Gazette has undergone a few changes. This new website is now the Gazette's home, and will hopefully make it easier for everyone to view the newsletters, which have gotten quite large and more difficult to email due to the number of photos. Be sure to bookmark and check this new website (http://pinnaclefallsgazette.weebly.com) regularly for updates. New features under consideration include surveys, a chat forum, and a slideshow. Please also make note of our new email address, which is now: [email protected].

A new park in the community of Tuxedo is one step closer to development.
The Henderson County Parks & Recreation Department installed a sign marking the entrance of the proposed Tuxedo Park in mid-October. Located next to Tuxedo Baptist Church on Highway 225, the park is expected to be completed in phases with the first phase to be started within the next year. |
ARB must approve firepits before installation on property
As a reminder, any property owners planning to add a firepit to their property, whether portable or in-ground, must first get approval from the Architectural Review Board (ARB).
Property owners must submit a site plan drawing indicating where the firepit will be located on the property, as well as a photo of the type of firepit planned. Firepits must be approved due to safety concerns to ensure that they are not located too close to any structures, trees, overhanging branches, or vegetation. Plans should be sumbitted to ARB Chairman Jim Blackburn at [email protected].
